We understand why you’re interested in building a custom home in Palos Verdes, CA. The elevated, secluded, and refined setting of PV has immense appeal. With its scenic coastline, tranquil landscape, and quiet luxury, it offers a slower, more intentional pace of life. This is a place more private, timeless, and peaceful than most can imagine—a true sanctuary.
While we could build homes anywhere, we build beach homes in Palos Verdes because we want to craft residences that serve as lasting markers of our era. The South Bay of California is our home, and we take pride in creating spaces that are customized to the very last detail, from the color of the couch to the temperature of the library at sunrise.
Most would agree that building a home can be stressful, but our team thrives in this environment. We revel in coordinating the details—whether it’s sourcing rare European marble, installing expansive 20-foot glass panes, or organizing street closures for a 70-ton crane to deliver 600 sheets of drywall. We love these challenges because they are complex and demanding, and when everything comes together to reflect your unique vision, it’s incredibly rewarding.
Our Design-Build Process for Palos Verdes Homes
Foundation to Furniture
Our design-build approach brings architecture, design, and construction together under one coordinated team. Instead of managing multiple contractors or competing ideas, you benefit from a single, unified vision. From the foundation to the final furnishings, every element of your home is thoughtfully considered—materials, finishes, furniture, and all the subtle details that make a space distinctly yours.
Stress-Free Project Management
Permitting and compliance in Palos Verdes can be complex, but White Sands thrives in this environment. Whether it’s navigating city approvals, addressing HOA guidelines, or coordinating deliveries on challenging terrain, we handle every step. The result is a streamlined, transparent process with fewer surprises and faster progress.

Our latest install at Seaside French Transitional gave us the perfect excuse to rethink the entry into a sandroom. And yes, you heard that right: a sandroom.
When you live by the beach, sand is simply an unavoidable part of the lifestyle. Instead of fighting it, we designed a dedicated space to make coming home from the beach a little more practical. A place to drop the sandy towels, shake out the beach bags, and transition from barefoot beach days to home.
Beautiful enough to be part of the house, functional enough to handle everything that comes with living by the ocean.

The mood board behind our Seaside French Traditional kitchen
It perfectly captures the calm, classic essence of seaside living: layered neutrals, weathered woods, soft textiles, and subtle nods to coastal living.
Relaxed but elevated, traditional but not expected. It really is the kind of home that feels effortlessly collected and will be just as beautiful years down the road.

The living room of our Seaside French Transitional is where the home’s European influence and coastal ease really come together.
Soaring vaulted ceilings create a sense of volume, while the dramatic arched window wall draws your eye straight to the natural light beyond. We kept the furnishings soft and relaxed with linen upholstery, organic textures, and a sculptural travertine coffee table, allowing the architecture to remain the star.
Refined, but not overly formal. Layered, but never overdone. Exactly how we want a coastal home to feel.

One of the most valuable things a designer brings to a project is the ability to see problems before they become problems.
Before a cabinet gets built that doesn’t function the way you need it to. Before a lighting plan leaves a room feeling flat. Before a material transition looks awkward. Before a decision becomes expensive or impossible to change.
We’re constantly thinking several steps ahead, looking at how each decision will affect the next one and how the finished home will actually function.
Because you’re not just paying us to make things beautiful. You’re paying for the experience to know what to look for, what to question, and what to solve before you ever have to think about it.
That’s just one of the many values of thoughtful design.

Behind every design is a designer, a vision, a process, renderings, and eventually, a final result.

We’re so excited to finally share our Seaside French Transitional—and this kitchen might just be one of our favorite spaces in the home. She is dreamy.
Designed with the ease of coastal living in mind and layered with European influence, the kitchen brings together warm caramel-toned custom cabinetry, Calacatta marble, a sculptural plaster range hood, hand-finished zellige tile, woven rattan, and aged brass. Every detail was chosen to feel collected, considered, and anything but expected.
And perhaps our favorite part? This may be a spec home, but it was designed to feel anything but. From the bespoke appliance garage to the intimate banquette tucked alongside the kitchen, every element was given the attention you’d expect from a completely custom home.
A very special project, and one we’re so happy to finally share with you.

Let’s be honest, not every project budget can accommodate every dream piece and that’s okay. Good design is about knowing where the investment will have the greatest impact.
When we need to make room in the budget, there are certain areas we’re much more comfortable pulling back on without compromising the overall feeling of the home.

Timeless design isn’t about creating a home that looks untouched by time. It’s about creating one that grows more beautiful with it.
We start with strong architecture, thoughtful proportions, and natural materials. From there, we layer in craftsmanship, texture, and pieces that feel collected rather than prescribed.
Trends have a place, but they shouldn’t dictate the foundation. The most enduring interiors feel considered without feeling overly designed and, best of all, still feel like you years from now.

We know it can be hard to see the vision when you’re staring at hundreds of samples, finish options, drawings, and inspiration images. A marble sample is just a marble sample. A cabinet door is just a cabinet door. On their own, it’s almost impossible to picture how everything will eventually come together.
But that’s where our expertise comes in.
We’re not looking at each decision individually. We’re looking at how every material, finish, proportion, color, and architectural detail will interact with everything around it and how it will ultimately feel as a complete home.
So if you’re looking at a table covered in samples thinking, “I have no idea how this is going to look,” trust us. We see it. We have the vision. And bringing that vision to life is exactly what we’re here to do.

If you’ve been debating custom cabinetry, consider this your sign.
More than beautiful storage, custom millwork becomes part of the architecture itself. It shapes the way a room feels, adds character, and offers unmatched function.
It’s one of those investments that doesn’t just improve a home; it becomes part of it. #CasaCaldiaProject
